1794 S-57 R1 PCGS graded XF45. Glossy reddish steel brown and olive. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is very nice, but there are some tiny contact marks and planchet chips scattered over both sides. The notable marks are a thin nick at the dentils below the 9, a dull nick on the 4, and a minor rim bruise over ER in AMERICA. E-MDS, Breen state II, with a depression at the dentil tips over CA and just a hint of the parallel "trenches" forming in the field before the face. Graded EF40 net VF30 and tied for CC#23 in the Noyes census, his photo #39592. Our grade is EF40+ sharpness net VF35. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
