Von Shirach, Baldur (1907-1974) Head of the Hitler Youth and Reichsstatthalter of the Reichsgau Vienna. One of only two men (Albert Speer was the other) to denounce Hitler at the Nuremberg trials, he was found guilty of "crimes against peace" and of "crimes against humanity" and sentenced to 20 years in Spandau Prison. Typed Letter Signed as "Reichsleiter der NSDAP / Reichsstatthalter in Wien," Vienna, April 2, 1943, one page, quarto. To Vienna's police chief and SS head, Querner, inviting him to take part in a trophy hunt and giving him information about the hunt, the director of the hunt, and how to reach him. The signature is huge, signed in green ink and covering most of the lower edge of the paper. Light toning, one file notation, and filing holes in left margin.
