1839 N-9 R2 Silly Head NGC graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous light to medium steel brown with a few peeps of underlying faded mint color on both sides. Sharply struck and attractive. The best identifying marks are a puff of darker toning at the top of the D in UNITED and a sprinkle of reddish brown toning from the T in CENT to the I in AMERICA. E-MDS. The bisecting die crack from the dentils over star 5 to the dentils under star 13 is complete but very light, the die lines off the upper left point of star 7 are clear, and there are no rim cud breaks on the obverse.
