Thrace, Maroneia, c. 386-347 BC. AR Stater (10.96 g). Prancing horse right. Reverse: Grape vine framed by magistrate's name. Seemingly unpublished variant; SNG Cop --; SNG Lewis --; BMC --; Boston MFA --. Small cut at edge and a few old marks on obverse. Rare. Choice Very Fine.

Maroneia was a city known for its wine production, as were many of the towns surrounding it.
