1818 Capped Bust Quarter Dollar. Fine-15. A very rare variety that is seldom offered, especially in such well preserved condition. This one boasts excellent surfaces and a natural steel gray color with lighter shades on the devices. The diagnostic line from the inner point of the second star, and double bar clash marks below the ear are present, but no arrows at the head as of yet, and the reverse shows the heavy crack from the left side of the N in UNITED to the wing. Hints of greenish gold on the reverse fields adds to the allure. A foremost rarity and the most difficult die pairing of the year!
