Lot 291

1851-O. NGC graded MS-65. Boldly struck with nice even toning on both sides of medium to light gold and gray over lustrous surfaces. The fields are satin smooth and retain the gem level of preservation. The vast majority of this issue were soon melted for a moderate profit that silver bullion was worth more than the face value of these silver coins, until 1853 when Congress reduced the amount of silver in each planchet from the half dimes through half dollars. A wonderfully handsome coin that will grace any specialist's holdings. Pop 4; 2 finer, 1 in 66, 1 in 66+. Estimated Value $6,000 - 6,500

Realized $7,320
