Lot 239

1850 N-12 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Red. Lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown on the highpoints, about 75% of the original mint color remaining visible. The only marks are some small carbon spots, mostly around star 6 with another tiny one between stars 3 & 4 and one on the top of the E in LIBERTY. The reverse is flawless. LDS, die state b. The earlier points from the C in CENT are gone. Our grade is MS63+, tied for CC#10 in the Grellman census. An impressive cent in spite of the few small spots. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 2 finer: 1 in 65, 1 in 65+. Estimated Value $2,000 - UP
