China. Dollar, ND (1923). K-677. Republic. President Tsao Kun in civilian dress. No legend. Reverse Two crossed flags. Brilliant lustrous surfaces. NGC graded MS-62.

Tsao Kun was a general in the Chinese army who bribed his way to the presidency. He was a ruthless man with no statesmanship ability and was removed from office in 1924 and imprisoned until 1926. On regaining his freedom, he officially retired from the presidency.
