Lot 238

1850 N-11 R3+ PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with delicate overtones of light bluish steel in the fields and protected areas. The notable marks, and they are trivial, are a tiny tick on the ear lobe and a light scratch under the left side of star 7. M-LDS, die state b. The tiny points down from the left base of the N in ONE are gone. A variety that is surprisingly difficult to find in mint state. Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#2 of the business strikes of the variety in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; the finest graded. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
Ex Andrew Reiber Rare Coins 6/14/2019-Colonel Steven K. Ellsworth Collection.
