Lot 208

1813 S-292 R2. PCGS graded AU-58. CAC. Choice frosty medium steel brown and chocolate. No spots or stains. Looks mint state but there is a touch of friction on the highest points. The only marks are a pair of tiny pinpricks over the 13 in the date, a tiny tick on the end of the nose, and a thin nick in the field over the front edge of the head. MDS, Breen state III, with delicately flowlined fields and dull die clashmarks on both sides. Extensive doubling shows on ONE CENT, and some letters display triple outlines (from die bounce or "machine doubling"). Struck slightly off center to K-4.5. Our grade is AU50+, very close to AU55. Noyes photo #20487. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 6 finer: 1 in 61, 3 in 62, 2 in 63. (PCGS # 36511) Value $11,000 - UP
