Roman Judaea, 2nd-3rd Century AD., Pale Green Bottle with Cobalt Trailed Thread Decoration. Symmetrcially formed in transcucent, pale green glass, the bulbous, nearly spherical body of this bottle is surmounted by a delicate, remarkably long, cylindrical neck that subtly widens over the upper half to a slightly flared rim. Trailed threading in cobalt blue spirals around the upper portion of the neck. Intact and perfect. Height: 7¼". Estimate Value $400 - 500
Ex June 1986, Superior Galleries Sale of the bankrupt assets of the International Diamond Corporation. The ancient Roman glass was acquired thru Rafi Brown in the early 1980's.
