Egypt. Order of Muhammad Ali, 2nd model (1919-1953), Grand Cordon set of insignia. Badge is in gold enamel, rubies and enamel, 94 x 55 mm, 53 grams. Star also in gold and enamel set in rubies and emeralds. 88 mm, 153 grams. Both hallmark by the maker Lattes. Complete with sash ribbon and original presentation case. In excelllent condition. Very Rare. Estimated Value $40,000 - UP
The Order of Muhammad Ali was founded by Sultan Hussein Kamel to commemorate the Muhammad Ali dynasty. There were three classes (collar, grand cordon and commander) and two medals (gold and silver). The collar was restricted to heads of state and members of Egyptian and foreign Royal families.
