Wilson, Woodrow. The Democratic Convention had been held from June 28 to July 2, and after 46 ballots nominated Wilson, whose only real rival had been Champ Clark. Clark almost won when Tammany Hall endorsed him after the tenth ballot, but his endorsement infuriated the non-candidate but immensely popular William Jennings Bryan, who threw his support to Wilson and assured him of the nomination which, because of the split in Republican ranks, virtually assured him of election as well. 28th President of the United States, 1913-1921.

Typed Letter Signed as nominee for President. One page, Quarto, Sea Girt, N.J. Aug. 1, 1912, to H.P. Fowles saying he is glad there is party unity after the long convention.

"… It is very useful to me to have a full and frank analysis of the situation in Tennessee and you have given me much food for thought. I am particularly gratified to learn that there is a substantial agreement on all hands in my support. It is really very wonderful how the Convention has ended without engendering feelings that impair the efficientcy and unity of the party."

Very Good.
Estimated Value $350 - 450.
