Lot 156

Wright, Frank Lloyd -- Signed One Dollar Silver Certificate (1867-1969) American architect. One dollar silver certificate signed "Frank Lloyd Wright" and dated "1956." A paper accompanying the one dollar bill explains that it was signed for Chicago Mayor Richard Daley (1902-76) at a fundraising event for Mr. Wright's School of Architecture at Taliesin West. The event took place at the Sherman Hotel in downtown Chicago on October 16, 1956, and Wright introduced his model and drawings for his mile-high skyscraper he called "The Illinois." Mayor Daley asked Frank Lloyd Wright to sign his lucky $1 bill, which Wright did in exchange for Mayor Daley's donation. Fine. Estimate Value $800 - 800
