Houdini: Rare Signed Biography Issued by Paramount Pictures in 1920 Letter of Authenticity by James Spence (1874-1926) Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz) at one time, magician Harry Houdini was the most popular entertainer in the world. His feats of magic and daring escapes made him a global sensation the likes never seen at the time by any entertainer.

In 1919 Paramount Pictures signed Houdini and starred in THE GRIM GAME and TERROR ISLAND. This 43 page brochure was a biography for the press and public at the time highlighting his career. The cover includes a printed signature of Houdini. But this copy, boldly autographed in top right corner in steel point fountain pen by the showman reads, "Regards Houdini".

Condition. Cover of program is in excellent condition, fortunately printed on better paper than the interior pages which are intact but heavily toned and fragile. The inside front cover has an illustrated image of his famous water torture cell with 200 pounds prize proving it is possible to breath hanging upside down in water. Obviously this edition was distributed in the UK.

Houdini is one of the most sought autographs by collectors worldwide. Letter of Authenticity by James Spence & Associates. Estimated Value $2,500 - 4,000

Realized $4,560
