Lot 1079

1818, 8 over 5. Browning-3, Rarity 3. PCGS graded MS-65. A memorable example of this overdate and a coin for the ages, as so few are known at the gem or finer grade level. This is a prized offering for the specialist. The surfaces are outstanding with delicate steel gray with golden accents near the rims. The centers are brighter white silver. As to the strike it is sharp on all of Liberty's curls. Frosty and nicely toned on both sides. The overdate feature has pretty much faded away from die lapping or wear, and the reverse is quickly identifiable by a thin crack up through the lowest arrowhead. Another condition rarity and worthy and an aggressive bid! Pop 1; 2 finer in 66. Value $18,000 - UP
