Lot 840
1859. NGC graded Proof 65. Only 800 minted. The obverse offers rose-gold and blue toning while the reverse is more uniform with deep and lovely blue and purple toning. Scarce at the Gem level and highly desirable for the rich, original toning and depth of the strike. An early Proof like this, struck well before the Motto was aded to the reverse, is always a hard coin to find in Gem! Perfect for the advanced date or type collector. 1859 is the year where proof production finally became more widely available to collectors, and while hardly "common" today, these are somewhat available with patience. Pop 21; 19 finer . Estimate Value $4,000 - 4,500
