1876 Shield 5C PCGS Proof 67. PCGS graded Proof 67. Lovely rainbow toning on the obverse and reverse. This is the Centennial year issue and great care was taken to strike these quite well. Add in the gorgeous toning and quality and you have a true winner for this scarce issue. Only 1,150 struck. Pop 2; none finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 3830) Estimated Value $3,500 - 3,700

1877 Shield 5C PCGS PF66 CAM. PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo. Well struck and untoned. Only 510 struck. The fields are boldly reflective while the devices are bathed in mint frost, which helps to create the Cameo effect noted here. Visually appealing and a key date that is lacking from most advanced collections, especially when found in PR-66! Pop 43; 12 finer, 3 in 66+, 9 in 67. (PCGS # 83831) Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500

1880 Shield 5C PCGS AU58. PCGS graded AU-58. Only 16,000 minted of which merely 100 examples are estimated to have survived. Mostly untoned with some minor handling marks. This is the key to the circlation strikes in the Shield nickel series, and a coin which is sought after by legions of collectors. Here is one in the prefect grade, AU-58, just enough wear to confirm circulation, but retaining virtually all of the original appeal of a mint state coin. Destined for an advanced collection and an important offering! Pop 2; 23 finer (PCGS # 3810) Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,200
