1858 Pattern 1C. J-204 PCGS Proof 65. PCGS graded Proof 65. CAC Approved. A gorgeous gem specimen with delicate golden iridescent tones on both sides. This design incorporates the small flying eagle obverse with the oak wreath on the reverse of 1859, but with a larger shield than adopted even in 1860. Well struck, well preserved and a pleasing gem of this popular transitional issue. Pop 12; 2 finer, 1 in 65+, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 11871) Estimated Value $3,500 - 4,000

1862 Pattern $10. J-298 NGC graded Proof 65BN. NGC graded Proof 65 Brown. Lovely blue and brown toning that is classic on these early copper patterns. This one has the regular dies obverse, combined with the experimental but not adopted Motto of "GOD OUR TRUST" on the reverse, in small letters but not on any ribbon. This was the first appearance of the evolution of the new Motto on our coinage. Pop 5; none finer at NGC. Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,000

1879 Pattern 25C. J-1593 PCGS PF66 CAM. PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo. CAC Approved. The popular Morgan Dollar Liberty Head on a quarter denomination. Fully white and with boldly mirrored fields contrasting against the frosty white devices. The obverse design incorporates a reduced size but exact head from the Morgan silver dollar, with the date below and E PLURIBUS UNUM surrounding with 13 stars placed between the last two words. For the reverse a standing eagle clutches an olive branch in his right claw, three arrows in his left. Legends include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUARTER DOLLAR surrounding with a much smaller sized letter punch used for IN GOD WE TRUST in the lower fields besides the eagle. Only a single coin graded finer in the Cameo contrast category and a rare seen but quite popular issue with collectors (PCGS # 134091) Estimated Value $20,000 - 22,000
