Lot 970
1856. PCGS graded Proof 64. CAC. PQ. Lovely toning on both sides. The surfaces are a delight to behold, with rich coppery-tan color over reflective mirror fields, the obverse showing crisp devices throughout. On the reverse a few hints of minor planchet flakes are seen with a strong loupe, but the high degree or reflectivity and splendid copper-tan color overwhelm the viewer with gem like surfaces and strong visual appeal. A numismatic classic, desired by all who know of this issue, and seldom offered except when advanced collections cross the auction block. Only 1,500 struck. Pop 217; 67 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 2037) Estimate Value $16,000 - 17,000
