Signed on one side "Used in training for Apollo 13, Fred Haise" and "James Lovell". It is also signed on the other side buy just Fred Haise. Apollo 14 Crew Signed Insurance Cover; Cancellation Kennedy Space Center, 1971. Apollo 14 Crew-Signed Insurance Cover. A philatelic cover with the "Apollo 8" 6 cent stamp affixed, bearing a pictorial machine cancellation from Kennedy Space Center dated Febuary 5, 1971, and addressed to tennis great "Pancho" Gonzales. The cachet is the mission insignia with three sets of wings printed beneath- two gold Navy (for Shepard and Mitchell), and one silver Air Force (for Roosa). Each astronaut has signed near his wings: "Al Shepard", "Stuart Roosa", and "Ed Mitchell". Insurance covers were typically signed by the entire crew before the flight and left behind for the families. Cover has minor toning and wear. Estimate Value $900 - 1,200

Sheet 4 of a 4-map set of a Command Service Module lunar orbit monitor chart prepared under The Department of Defense by the Aeronautical Chart and Information Center, United States Air Force, 2nd Edition dated December 7, 1970. Extraordinary detail in photo-mapping printed on photographic paper with a high degree of silvering in the emulsion giving greater detail and contrast. Training workbook also notes not only was insufficient photography available to cover all perspectives, but also some of the surface areas were not adequately covered from any perspective. Over 50 photos with hand written notations of the names of craters and lunar areas are noted on almost every photo. Ultimately Apollo 14 landed at the Fra Mauro crater location originally planned for Apollo 13. Clasp-bound work book is in overall very fine used condition with some toning to section tabs. Three Data Transmission Records From Space Mariner 2 and Apollo Missions. Collection of three data transmissions. First from Mariner 2 when reaching Venus December 14, 1962, a transmission recording segment (1¾ x 8") communicated from the spacecraft to measure radiometric temperature and the Interplanetary Magnetic Field and charged particle environment. Comes with a fact sheet, a commemorative cover and a copy of a photo and letter by the Assistant Lab Director of JPL. Second is a section of the transmission data of the seismographic activity beneath the Moon's surface by equipment left behind on Apollo 14 and Apollo 15 missions known as ALSEP. Printed strips are no longer used so a very nice collectible. Finally from Apollo 13 a photocopy of a photo of the seismic recording of the impact of the Apollo 13 S-IVP/Instrument unit with the lunar surface complete with photocopy of NASA information sheet. Lot of about 125 color/black and white NASA 8 x 10" behind-the-scene publicity and concept photos of the EVA (extra-vehicular activity) or lunar rover. An impressive lot that proved a signature accomplishment for Apollo 15 and Commander David Scott and Lunar Module Pilot James Irwin who spent three days on the Moon, including 18½ hours outside the spacecraft, the rover allowing them far greater distance from the lunar module. Apollo Flight Operations Plan (1968), Apollo 15 Final Change B Flight Plan & Detailed Notes on Apollo Mission Simulations. Compilation of Apollo 15 Operations Flight Plan spanning from July 26, 1971 to September 23, 1971, Change B Flight Plan prepared by Flight Planning and Crew Procedures divisions. Detailed CSM and LM flight plans, charts, and the like. Also a rubber banded Flight Operations Plan Mission D manual dated August 23, 1968. Finally included is at least 65 handwritten pages of notes, which appear to be detailed notes on Apollo Mission simulations with further notation revealing much insight. All in good to very good used condition, The Final Change B Flight plan cover exhibits moderate edge chewing so held in check with rubber band but the text is completely legible with only minor bites along the bottom edge of the first few pages. Impressive Lunar Module Archive; Systems Handbook LM 1 and Later Some With Handwritten Notations. Two massive notebooks and one systems handbook all relating to the Lunar Module. Included in archive is the Lunar Module Systems Handbook Vehicle LM-1 AS-206 Revision B dated 3/16/67 prepared by the Flight Control Division of NASA. Detailed charts, tables, fold out schematics regarding electrical power, communications, instrumentation and the like. In the two packed three ring binders are systems operation for LM-10 and other subsequent flights which would place them during the Apollo 15 and 17 missions and have detailed diagrams, of the Lunar Module and every conceivable operations and systems management details. LM-1 manual and one of the two notebooks dated March 1, 1972 are in very fine used condition. The second large notebook has some silverfish damage (small rodent?) to the lower left corners limited to only about 8 pages out of 200 and would grade at very good condition. Made by Army Topolographical Command from data compiled at Manned Space Craft Center, this 3-D lunar surface topological map measures roughly 44"x29" and is scaled to 1/12,500. It depicts target landing site (Descartes) and notes other landmarks with unofficial names. This map was likely used in planning Apollo 16 mission. Some mild splits at very edge. Apollo 16 Flown Lunar Surface Flag with Excellent Provenance. American flag flown to the Lunar Surface. Originally consigned by a longtime NASA employee, William R. Whipkey who worked with many of the astronauts and crews and we are pleased to offer this piece once again after five years. This flag, flown on Apollo 16 was given to the consignor by the crew for his help and support. An accompanying handwritten and signed COA reads, "This American Flag (4 x 5 ½") was flown on Apollo 16 to the Lunar Surface aboard Lunar Module #11, "Orion". This flag was given to me by the crew upon their return has been in possession ever since." The flag is in excellent condition with a few creases with personally handwritten COA by the former NASA director on his personal stationery. This flag is unframed and unmounted giving flexibility and preference in how to present for display. Estimate Value $6,000 - UP

Apollo 16, Multiple Launch and Systems Manuals and One Preliminary Science Report. Two Apollo 16 handbooks. The first, the Command/Service Module (CSM) Systems Handbook (CSM 113) used by the Flight Director and quite the comprehensive workbook involving sequential events systems, instrumentation, control systems and much more, with a number of fold out charts, tables and technical drawings.dated November 29, 1972. The second collection is several CSM work books assembled with two rings that contain the CSM Systems Checklist manual, CSM cue cards, Flight Crew G&N Dictionary, CSM Launch Checklist and CSM Rescue Book. An immense amount of engineering and technical aspects that prove a fantastic overview of the achievements that defined the Apollo program. The third publication is the Preliminary Science Report of Apollo 16 published by NASA in November, 1972 and is filled with reports, findings and photos throughout. Manuals in very fine used condition, the published science report while in overall fine condition has some light stains on cover and first few pages. Estimate Value $300 - 500

Apollo 16 Flight Director's Final Flight Mission Rules (11/71) and Final Flight Pland (3/72). Two manuals, one pamphlet, for Apollo 16 (AS-511/113/LM-11). First a mammoth Final Flight Mission Rules prepared on 11/19/1971 with general guidelines, flight operation rules, instrumentation requirements, docking and umbilical, CSM guidance controls and communication. Within those sections and more are countless graphs, charts, memos, timelines and the like. The second manual is a Final Flight prepared March 6, 1972 containing time tables, flight plans LM flight plans, CSM flight plans and timetables. Finally a pamphlet sized Science Summary of Apollo 16 Orbital Science Experiments/Detailed objectives and priorities. The large manuals in very fine condition with evidence of use and the Science Summary exhibits considerable toning on the cover but the text pages and drawings within are very good. Apollo 17 Final Flight Plan (10/23/72), Final Flight Mission Rules (9/1/72) and CSM Manual. Apollo 17 (AS-514/114/LM-12) the final mission of NASA's Apollo program that first put men on the moon. The end of an historic leap in America's thirst for science and exploration in manned space travel to the moon. Apollo 17 was the last manned Saturn V launch and the only night launch which a half a million people in the area watched. Offered are two manuals from the collection of a long time NASA employee's archive. One the Final Flight Plan, the second Final Flight Mission Rules……….both in very fine condition, with the Final Flight Plan staple bound, the Mission Rules removed from four-ring binder and packaged. There is a third manual, in a 5 ring binder, The Command/Service Module Systems Handbook dated 8/23/72. Manual is in good condition but completely fine to read. Unfortunately the first 20 pages on the left edges exhibit some rodent biting. Get past those pages and the workbook is quite fine. Estimate Value $250 - 400
