Trentesimaterza tavola nvova, from La geografia di Claudius Ptolemy, translated from Greek to Italian by Girolamo Ruscelli, Venetia, Appresso Vincenzo Valgrisi, M.D.LXI. (1561), 6½ x 9", on 9 x 11½". Uncolored. Very good. Some show-through from verso where atlas pages are joined at center seam. One of the earliest separately published maps of Cuba, which was first appeared in the 1548 edition of Gastaldi's edition of Ptolemy's Geografia. Estimate Value $300 - 400

Three Cuban Maps Showing the Siege of Havana by the British in 1762--Part of the Seven Years' War. Three hand-colored, copperplate maps: (1) A View of the Moor's Castle near the Havana Whilst Besieged by Us, London; London Magazine, [1763]., 5 1/8 x 8 1/8". Three British ships from the Royal Battery are pictured: the Marlborough, the Dragon, and the Cambridge. Matted to 7¼ x 9¾". (2) A Plan of the Late Siege of the Havana, and Moor's Castle, & their Environs," London: London Magazine, 5¼ x 8", matted to 7¼ x 9¾". (3) A Plan of the Straights of Bahama, through which the Expedition Fleet was Conducted in the Year 1762, against the Havana, London, London Magazine, 5 x 8", matted to 7¼ x 9¾". All fine. Havana was returned to Spain under the 1763 Treaty of Paris that ended the war. Estimate Value $250 - 300
