Barnum, Phineas T. - Signed Book and CDV With Gen. & Mrs. Tom Thumb & Others (1810-1891) American showman and businessman, best remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and for founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Book signed and inscribed "To Paul of Thumb / 'The Noblest' /PT Barnum" on the first end page. The book is Struggles and Triumphs or, Sixty Years' Recollections of P.T. Barnum, Including His Golden Rules for Money-Making…Written by Himself," Buffalo: The Courier Company, 1889. Red buckram covers, worn edges and spine, toned throughout; small tear to last blank end page. Accompanied by a toned carte de visite of Barnum at the wedding of the famous little person, General Tom Thumb, and Lavinia Warren. Pictured with them are best man George Washington Morrison ("Commodore") Nutt, and maid of honor Minnie Warren, Lavinia's sister. Estimate Value $400 - 600
