Judaea, Bar Kokhba Revolt. Æ Small Bronze (5.73 g), 132-135 CE. Undated, attributed to year 3 (134/5 CE). 'Jerusalem' (Paleo-Hebrew), seven-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates. Reverse: 'For the freedom of Jerusalem' (Paleo-Hebrew), bunch of grapes with branch and small leaf. Hendin 1439; Mildenberg 156 (O4/R6); TJC 301. Light green patina. Extremely Fine. Estimate Value $350 - 400

Judaea, Bar Kokhba Revolt. Æ Medium or Small Bronze Planchet (6.79 g), 132-135 CE. A prepared blank planchet, either a Medium Bronze (cf. Hendin 1436) or Small Bronze (cf. Hendin 1438-1440) for year 3. Cf. TJC 310. Earthen-brown patina with striations on both sides from filing, probably to remove the designs from a previously struck coin. This is the first such example we have seen. An important rarity. Very Fine. Estimate Value $400 - 500
