Lot 1266
1885. PCGS graded Proof 65 Cameo. A brilliant coin showing ample contrast for the Cameo designation and glorious frost on the devices. The surfaces are undiminished by time or handling, and this example offers outstanding appeal. Although these final years of Gold Dollar production saw the number of Proofs struck increase dramatically, many went to non numismatic sources and hence are actually quite elusive in high Gem grades like this. A simply stunning example that will dazzle any collector every time it is viewed. Only 1,105 struck. Pop 2; 3 finer in 66. (PCGS # 87635) Estimate Value $6,000 - 6,500
The 1776 Paul Collector.
