1960s Saturn V rocket model. This 20" tall model was given to employee at NASA model shop, Bldg #8473, at Redstone Arsonal. Model is painted and with decals. Noted are all three stages: S-IC, S-II and S-IVB. Also noted is Insturment Unit, Service Module and Command Module. Model has three broken fins at bottom and lacke piece above Command Module. Most interesting segment is the philosophy of the project. We don't recall ever seeeing anything like thses documents before. Includes 3 manuals, 8 documents (multipaged) and more than 50 LM & space suit 8"x10" NASA photos, both B&W & color, that mainly depicts LM parts & construction. all were used during Apollo Program by Don Puddy. Manuals include '1964 Lunar Excursion Module Familiarization Manual' with notations, 'Lunar Module Systems Handbook LM-10 And Subsequent Vehicles' (with several engineering drawing foldouts and blue print) and 'Apollo Operations Handbook LM 11 and Subsequent' covering operational procedures. 1964 NASA LM M-5 mockup manual. Produced by Grumman, this 150 page plastic ring bound manual titled 'NASA Inspection and Review of Lunar Excursion Module M-5 Mockup Oct 5-9, 1964' includes both text and engineering drawings & sketches with many fold outs. Put together by evaluators of the mockup and discusses basic descriptions, report on technical aspects, descrepencies, demonstrations, displays, subsystems, quality control and other factors. Also includes 8"x10" B&W photo of mockup team in front of mockup taken in October, 1964. Some cover soiling, binding has loosened with loose back cover and loose pages. Rare manual. Includes three 8"x10" color NASA lithos with two signed Joe Kerwin portaits & one Apollo 7 crew white space suit signed by Walt Cunningham (insscribed). Also includes 8"x10" inscribed white space suit NASA red serial numbered photo signed by Vance Brand; two US postage space themed mint sheets, each signed by Jim Irwin (both faded), one framed (12"x14") and 8"x10" Apollo 12 white space suit crew signed sepia tinted photo with bold signatures of Bean, Gordon & Conrad that is inscribed (probably by Bean) and matted & framed to 15½"x21" that includes mission patch. Lastly is 9½"x7¼" color image of Apollo 15 astronaut Dave Scott saluting flag on lunar surface mounted on 14"x11" matte that is signed and inscribed by Dave Scott in 1973. 1967 Apollo 1 original 'Apollo flight crew emblem' crew patch. This is one of the genuine 'official' crew patches (3½") as given to Deke Slayton in his official capacity as Director of Flight Operations by Apollo 1 crew member Gus Grissom prior to the fire in whcih the crew lost their lives. Included is a copy of two notes (originals on file) found with the patches in Slayton's estate. One is of a NASacard reading "Item: 'Apollo Flight Crew Emblem' (Part no ACS 204/Date Sept 19/1966/Quantity/5/Aug 1966" and bears two official handstamps. 2005 Bobbi Slayton COA.
