13 Piece Antique Meissen Blue Onion ca. 1930s. Blue Onion (Zwiebelmuster) is a fine china tableware pattern originally manufactured by Meissen porcelain since the 18th century and remains today, extremely popular and appealing. The onion pattern was designed as a white ware decorated with cobalt blue underglaze pattern. 13 piece collection of antique blue onion Meissen each with crossed sword marks indicating age range from 1934 to 1945. The floral blue flow onion pattern is beautifully detailed and overall has been kept in wonderful condition. Appealing for collectors are the two serving platters and the scarce double bowl. The largest oval tray measuses 11 x 16" with only slight loss of gilt to the edges, the slightly smaller 10 x 13", having moderate loss. The double bowl, almost a split shell appearance measures 9 x 11 x 4¾" and shows very little loss of gilt to the edges or handle. Finally 10 salad/dessert plates measuring 8" in diameter No cracks, chips or repairs. Estimated Value $400 - 800

Meissen Blanc de Chine Figure, German. Blanc de Chine is an enormously popular porcelain that first made at Dehua in the Fujian province, otherwise known as Dehua porcelain. Acclaimed German porcelain manufacturer, Meissen, began copying the syle of the porcelain in the 1800s. Offered is such a piece of a Chinese tailor, threading a needle sitting cross legged and overlapping the base. Superb detail to fingers and facial expression. 7¾ x 6½ x 6½" and sits on a Chinese wood base. Mint condition no breaks or repairs including the delicate hands. Struck, with crossed swords in underglaze blue and further impressed crossed swords, and incised R.2.87. Estimated Value $400 - 600

Antique Tobacciana, Late 19th - 20th Century Jar Stand, Pipes. Collection of antique tobacciana from a variety of periods. Oldest and best is a porcelain tobacco jar by Taylor, Tunnicliffe & Co., England, founded in 1875 and based on mark jar ca. 1890s, with a golfer on both sides, lid heavy and ground for excellent fit to jar. 6 x 4¼ x 4¼" and in remarkable shape given its age, with only some wear to gold gilt trim and a very tiny chip to mouth. The rest of the collection is a wooden smoking stand specifically for pipes from early 20th century 32 x 12 x 12" with great flourish to the legs and base with post supporting a horseshoe shaped table-top with pipe rack and wooden cups of varying sizes to accommodate, matches, clippings and tobacco that pin into the table. Included as an aside are two brass and one meerschaum pipe of difficult to determine ages. Pipe rack affixed to table has two decades old repairs. Estimated Value $250 - 500

Fischer & Mieg ca. 1860-1880 Large Porcelain Centerpiece. Rare Bohemian Fischer and Mieg porcelain centerpiece. Founded in 1802 Höcke porcelain company was taken over by Christian Fischer and Emma Karolina von Mieg in the 1820s who studied at the National Manufactory in Sèvres, France and both credited with the formalization of Bohemian shapes and designs. The family remained in control of the company until 1908. Fischer and Mieg are renowned for the very high quality of their porcelain and for their exquisite designs. This centerpiece with its rich cobalt blues and raised Roman gold highlights of flowers, birds and gold accents is exceptional, accented with the gilt painted animal heads that form the handles down to the attached footed stand. Two minor chips to one of the bottom feet minor wear to some of the gilded decoration and one of the animal heads was professionally re-attached decades past. Otherwise an absolutely stunning piece given its 150+ years. 17" x 10" x 8". Green printed Fischer & Mieg crossed hammer mark on under side of base. Estimated Value $800 - 900
