Blanc, Mel. An Ounce of Prevention (1908 - 1989) Opaque watercolor on trimmed acetate 10½ x 12½", matted.Celebrated actor, radio comedian and voice actor virtually without equal. Blanc is best remembered for his work as the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Pepé Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, the Tasmanian Devil and many of the other characters from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animated shorts. Offered are four cels from the production of : 3 are inscribed and signed by Blanc. Bugs Bunny "Ehh - What's up Doc?", Daffy Duck "HooHooHooHoo", and Tweety Bird "Ooo I taw a Puddy Tat". All three are in excellent condition, all boldly signed in felt tip pen. The fourth is Sylvester in equally excellent condition. Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000

Blanc, Mel. Half Fare Hare (1908 - 1989) Several great pieces: Opaque watercolor on trimmed acetate 10½ x 13½", matted. Celebrated actor, radio comedian and voice actor virtually without equal. Blanc is best remembered for his work as the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Pepé Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, the Tasmanian Devil and many of the other characters from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animated shorts. Offered are two cells from Half Fare Hare (1956) of Bugs Bunny. The first is Bugs carrying a carpet bag and Blanc has signed and inscribed "Eh-what's up Doc? Bugs Bunny Mel Blanc" in blue felt tip pin. The other, Bugs is reading a newspaper, and Blanc has signed and inscribed the same but in black felt tip pen. Some minor notes in condition. The green carpet bag is exhibiting some watercolor loss, but Bugs Bunny looks great. On the second, Bugs is exhibiting some crazing and a bit of paint loss in the scarf at the tip. Otherwise both present very nicely with fantastic signatures.

Finally, 4 production sketches likely from An Ounce of Prevention 1982 of Tweety Bird, Daffy, Bugs and Sylvester. rendered in color pencils. All together a great collection. Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000

Schulz, Charles M (1922-2000). American cartoonist best known for the comic strip Peanuts, which featured such iconic characters as the admirably determined Charlie Brown, bossy Lucy van Pelt, and Charlie's intelligent pet Beagle, Snoopy, Schulz is widely regarded as one of the most influential cartoonists of all time. Camera stat signed ("Charles M. Schulz") and inscribed ("Best wishes"), in black sharpie, n.p., n.d. Schulz's clean, bold signature, rendered later in the life of the esteemed cartoonist, graces the title panel of a comic strip in which Lucy and Linus debate the probable realities behind the classic fairytale,"The Frog Prince". Schulz, Charles M. and Carrol Spinney (1933 -). American puppeteer and cartoonist, most famous for playing Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on the long-running children's program, Sesame Street. This three-piece lot includes two small (2¼ x 4½" and 4½ x 4¼") ink cartoons of Schulz's celebrated canine, Snoopy, both signed ("Schulz") by the artist, and an inscribed ("Hi, Megan! / BIG BIRD") ink cartoon of Spinney's beloved alter-ego, Big Bird, along with a few errant yellow feathers. All three items were acquired at a 3rd grade birthday party celebrated at Snoopy's Home Ice, Charles Schulz's ice skating rink in Santa Rosa, California. The Snoopy cartoons are lightly creased, but still very good. The Big Bird cartoon is worn, with some moisture damage mostly confined to the margins and some holes through the lower half of the sheet of paper leaving the piece in good condition. Representing two of the most popular animated series on television, from the co-creator of SOUTH PARK director and writer, Trey Parker, has quickly sketched Eric Cartman and boldly signed in marker on a sheet 9½ x 6¾". South Park is entering its 20th Season on Comedy Central still remaining provocative, timely and outrageously funny. Seth MacFarlane has autographed and sketched Brian Griffin on glossy card stock, 8 x 10", the martini-sipping dog from FAMILY GUY, the long running Fox Channel animated series entering its 15th Season. Both pieces are in excellent condition and would look terrific framed. Estimated Value $300 - 500
