Lot 1710
Mechanics Bank of Pittsburgh, PA $1 May 1, 1861, Haxby 540-UNL. PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. This is a scarce design that is unlisted in the Haxby reference, where it is only listed in this design with a green tint rather than red as used on this note. The central vignette aptly portrays a workman in a factory setting. The "apparent" designation from PCGS Currency is solely for a small stain at the right of center that is more visible from the unprinted back than from the face.
Estimated Value $150 - 200.
