Uzi 9MM Screen-Used Prop from SCARFACE. Blank-Firing Uzi 9MM from the film "Scarface", black, 17" in length, prop gun markings: "MP UZI Kal 9mm, 820119, DE S. With original prop I.D. tag. The gun was issued to the set for use by an actor during the final assault on the home of Tony Montana. SCARFACE and clearly visible on screen. While moderately successful and controversial film in its release, its stature has grown exponentially virtually becoming a cult film and right of passage for going on two generations of curious youth. The gun shows most definitely displays, typical for props coming from action films.

Rare Grauman's Theaters World Premiere Film Programs, Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush and Two for Grand Hotel. Historic film programs for engagements at Sid Grauman's theaters in Hollywood. First, a very scarce 24 page, 12" x 9" program for the World Premiere Engagement of Charlie Chaplin's THE GOLD RUSH. In near to mint condition, program sold for 25 cents and contained history and photos of the film production, Charlie Chaplin as well as biographical information of Sid Grauman and images of his famous Egyptian Theater which had just opened two years earlier. Program also included showtimes, prices and where to purchase tickets in advance. A fantastic bit of history from one of Chaplin's greatest silent masterpieces. Also an impressive program for the Hollywood Premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theater of GRAND HOTEL a folio that snapped together that mimicked hotel messages delivered by bell hops at upscale hotels. The logo of The Grand Hotel is in printed in upper left corner of folio, "GRAND HOTEL GRAUMAN'S CHINESE" in lower right with the evenings entertainment and cast printed on gold paper on the inside, all in fine condition with general evidence of wear due to age. Also included is the program of GRAND HOTEL for the Astor Theatre in New York City, but not nearly as elaborate as The Chinese.

D. W. Griffith's BIRTH OF A NATION Two Scarce Programs. Two vintage original printed, three-colored soft cover programs. The larger, far more rare version was specific to exclusive engagement theaters, this particular edition for the Lyric Theater in Minneapolis and measures 12" x 9½". The slightly smaller measures 10¾" x 8¼" were available in wider releases. Each bound with decorative cording, with photos from the now controversial films and biographies of Griffith and his players. The program was Published by Epoch Producing Corp .for D.W. Griffith's 1915 silent film, which chronicles the Civil War through Reconstruction and the emergence of the Ku Klux Klan; based on the novel and play "The Clansman," by Thomas Dixon, Jr. Griffith co-wrote the screenplay and the film. "The Birth of a Nation," was the very first motion picture screened in the White House by President Woodrow Wilson, a segregationist from Virginia. Some age toning, minor soiling and edge wear. Otherwise fine-.

Impressive Collection of Signatures by Famous Authors Including Bertolt Brecht, Eugene O'Neill, and Sinclair Lewis. Very nice collection of signatures from famous authors. A fragment of a Bertholt Brecht typed letter signed dated June 14, likely 1947, to the actor Charles Laughton regarding his appearance and compensation on Broadway in December of 1947 for the lead in Brecht's GALILEO. While the fragment is stained the typed "Yours Truly" signature by Bertholt Brecht and typed "Bertholt Brecht" are clean and could be easily matted down for framing given a very scarce signature. Fragment meaures 7" x 6" on onion skin paper. A typed letter signed on personal stationery at Thorvale Farm by Sinclair Lewis (signed "Red') dated 1948 to Meta Reis a literary agent that updates on his writing and goes on to mock the head of production for MGM at the time, Dory Schary. The letter has heavy toning and staining around borders where it was affixed in a scrapbook. From Eugene O'Neill a nicely signed calling card signed in black fountain pen and dated 1918, The rest of the collection are all signed cards in various sizes by such acclaimed writers as Thornton Wilder, Booth Tarkington, Gore Vidal, Erskine Caldwell, Alex Haley, Carrie Fisher and famous columnist, Walter Winchell.

Band leaders: Guy Lombardo, on a 2 x 3½"card; Woody Herman, on the back of his business card; Skitch Henderson, on a 2 x 3½" card.; Artie Shaw, Autograph Note Signed on the back of Harry Sparks' letter to him, saying "I have no business cards and hope this'll do / 11/12/77"; Andre Kostelanetz, on his engraved personal card; Fred Waring, on a 3 x 5" card; Peter Duchin, on the back of his business card; Lawrence Welk, the inside of his business card; Doc Severinsen, on a 2 x 3½ in. card; Edwin Franko Goldman,on a Salvation Army program; and David Rose, on a 3 x 5 in. card with a musical quotation inscribed "to Harry Sparks--with thanks." Also, Arthur Murray, on a personal memo page. All fine.

Bing signed the back of his card.; Luciano Pavarotti, signed color photo, 8¼ x 5¾", large signature, dated "2002", signed on lower white border; Joan Sutherland signed the front of her personal card; Leontyne Price signed a card with inscription and date; Beverly Sills signed a 5½ x 3½ " photo of herself as Manon; Robert Merrill signed four calling cards, two on the front and two inside; Jerome Hines signed the back of his card and added book and chapter of a Bible verse; Dorothy Kirsten signed the back of her card; and Bidu Sayäo signed an album page. All fine.
