Lot 1169
1901. PCGS graded MS-63. Nicely toned for this key date and nearly impossible to find this nice. The Philadelphia Mint churned out nearly 7 million 1901 Morgan dollars and they are plentiful today--except in Mint State. In fact, this issue in one of the great condition rarities of the Morgan dollar series. While not as impossible to locate as the 1892-S or 1893-S in mint condition, the 1901 deserves high honors when found in Choice MS-63 or finer. Collectors far and wide have a hard time finding one this nice, which keeps demand strong when a pleasing example like is offered. A popular rare date in mint state. Pop 120; 39 finer (PCGS # 7272) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.
