Lot 1091		1841. PCGS graded MS-61. CAC Approved. Very few abrasions for this numerical grade. Loaded with sparkling white mint luster. A scarce date to find in mint state and often overlooked as the second year of issue, whereas many 1840 coins were saved as the first of their kind. Lot 1093		1850. PCGS graded Proof 64+. Lovely light gold and blue toning bathes both sides in an attractive blend of jewel tones. This coin is so pleasing that it was chosen to represent this issue on the CoinFacts website. Of course 1850 is a rare issue with a low mintage of circulation strikes too. The Proofs are the most desirable of all, especially when they look like this! Only 20 pieces were minted and this is certainly one of the finer examples known today. There is considerable frost on the devices and this helps produce the cameo appearance although it is not quite enough in depth for the cameo desgination from PCGS. With so few of these prized proof coins known any appearance at auction creates an opportunity for specialists to acquire this rarity. Given the exceptional toning and quality of this coin, we expect bidders to be eager to bring this piece home. Early proof coinage like this (struck prior to 1857) is quite rare and always in strong demand. Lot 1094		1863. PCGS graded Proof 65. Lovely light golden and green toning which greatly adds to the eye appeal over the highly reflective fields and satin frost on the devices. Only 460 minted in Proof, and this is certainly one of the finer examples topped only by a handful as noted below. The surfaces are incredibly well preserved and show none of the usually seen nicks and handling marks, and this is why so few gems exist today. An imposing coin that will add considerablly to and advanced collection. This is one of the early No Motto silver dollars too, and these are true rarities in Gem! Lot 1095		1870-CC. PCGS graded AU-58. Fully white with reflective fields with only scattered light moarks when closely examined. This is the first year of issue for the Carson City Mint and these silver dollars were the first coins they struck.These of course were symbolic of the Comstock Load of silver coming out of several of the silver mines nearby and silver dollars were the primary source of pride locally. These were struck in limited quantities, in fact only 12,462 minted and this is one of the finest seen.All are scarce and higher grade pieces like this are the most sought after and desired.A prize for the specialist!Pop 16; 16 finer (PCGS # 6964) . Lot 1096		1870-CC PCGS graded Genuine AU Details. Cleaning. Only 12,462 minted. Lovely light golden toning with reflective fields. A nice looking coin that will please most collectors for its high technical grade and strong device defintion. This is the first year of issue for the Carson City Mint and these silver dollars were the first coins they struck when coinage began. Important and historic! (PCGS # 6964) . Lot 1097		1872-CC. PCGS graded AU-55. Untoned silver-gray with reflective fields that clearly saw only brief circulation. These Carson City Liberty Seated dollars are scarce and highly collectible. Their mintages were tiny at only 3,150. Of course most of the known coins from these dies are in much lower grades when they survived at all, and these have huge collecting pressure when high grade pieces like this are offered. Lot 1098		1873. PCGS graded Proof 65. Only 600 minted and this is one of the finer pieces reported today by PCGS. Light gold, silver, and blue toning dances across the obverse and reverse in a most elegant fashion. This is the final year of issue of the Liberty Seated silver dollar and these seemed to just suddenly drift away as no final year surge was noted in the orders for these rare proofs. In fact, more orders came in for the new Trade dollars that were launched in 1873! Today the handsome design of the Liberty Seated dollar and their rarity makes them highly collectible, especially so when found in gem grades as offered here.
