Magnificent Baroque Gilt and Onyx Ornamental Sleigh Centerpiece. Very much mirroring the incredible baroque style of sleighs in the keep of King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the mid 1800s, offered is a spectacular brass metal and onyx sleigh centerpiece. Measuring 14" x 20" x 6", the amount of detail in this ornamental piece is impressive. Side panels are of cut and polished onyx, 10mm thick surrounded by intricate detailed scrolling and along the under carriage, a filigree that is absolutely a marvel of craftsmanship. Atop the back of sleigh is a dragon headed chimère with eagle wings and a lion's body and at the front, a younger version of the mystical creature. Centerpiece weighs 16 pounds. Ledru Art Nouveau Vase. A majestic silver plated bronze vase. Produced at the Susse Frères factory in 1890, it depicts Neptune at the spout, a water nymph wrapped around it's body. and a fish swimming above its base.
