Charming 20th Century standing Lady Liberty (29" x 8" x 2") on ball and pedestal including carved figure, pedestal, flag, star sash and garland ornamented with antiqued polychrome paints and strips of glued, vintage cloth seamstress's measuring tape. Missing tip to one extended finger; otherwise fine.

Binder, Erwin. Transcendence of Man. Erwin Binder (1934-1993), a veteran of the United States Air Force, learned to cast metal and work with stone as an employee at his family's jewelry business. Wanting to develop these skills further, he enrolled at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and subsequently produced numerous monumental public sculptures throughout Southern California in the 1970s and 1980s. He was also deeply influenced by Mexican culture, most notably the surreal portrait work of José Clemente Orozco. Offered here is a signed and dated sculpture released in 1978, #2 of an edition of 10 called "Transcedence of Man" measuring 17" tall including the square marble base. Sculpture is in superior condition and quite striking. 24 pounds. Buyer responsible for shipping. In excellent condition.

Binder, Erwin. The Lovers. Erwin Binder (1934-1993), a veteran of the United States Air Force, learned to cast metal and work with stone as an employee at his family's jewelry business. Davidson, Jo. Lincoln, Abraham. Bronze Bust by Jo Davidson. A remarkable bronze bust of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, by renowned American sculpture, Jo Davidson (1883-1952). Bust measures 10 x 4½" with marble base and is in mint condition. On collar of coat at nape of neck can be found the artist's stamp dated 1943. Considered one of the "Young American Artists of the Modern School" in the early 1900s, Davidson's reputation was secured in 2006 when the National Portrait Gallery opened a permanent exhibit of his work,"Jo Davidson: Biographer in Bronze," with 14 works in bronze and terra-cotta on display.

Guerrero, Zarco. Nagual Mask, Jaguar. Zarco Guerrero, resident of Mesa, Arizona has a long distinquished career for his modern interpretation of masks used in the celebration of "Day of the Dead" festivities. "Nagual" is an Aztec term used to describe the Guardian Spirit of Man - while emphasizing his animal characteristic and nature. Thus the term Nagual Mask is used to describe this modern style of mask. Of wood, hand painted ornamented with fur, antlers and bead necklace. Mask is signed and dated, 1984 beautifully presented in a lucite shadow box measuring 21" x 20" x 10" and is in mint condition. Buyer responsible for shipping.

José Jesús Francisco Zúñiga Chavarría (1912-1998) was a Costa Rican-born Mexican artist, acclaimed the world over both for his painting and his sculpture, considered "one of the best sculptors of the Mexican political modern style" according to Encyclopedia Britannica.
