Linda Darnell and Ann Sothern Signed and Inscribed Vintage Portraits. Two stunning actresses of the Silver Screen in this lot of two vintage original 8" x 10", double-weight portrait sepia toned stills, signed and.incscribed. Linda Darnell, proved her comic and dramatic talents in over 40 films including My Darling Clementine, Unfaithfully Yours, Forever Amber, Fallen Angel, and The Mark of Zorro. Signed photos by Darnell are scarce having passed away from injuries suffered in a house fire but her films live on with a very loyal fan base. Ann Sothern starred in over 70 films and very much the beauty and talent of Darnell including the near ten year run of her "Maisie" series of films A Letter To Three Wives and many more then moved successfully into television. Both photos in excellent condition.

Mae West - Rare, Signed, Three Color Carbro Oversized Portrait by Acclaimed Photographer James N. Doolittle. Mae West - Legendary stage and screen performer pushing the boundaries of sexual agency, women's and civil rights all the while generating legions of fans, saving Paramount Studios from financial ruin and becoming a Hollywood icon. West was featured in only 16 films, but so many of those films are quoted regularly to this day complete with mimicking her delivery. An utterly unique Hollywood star. Offered here is an oversized, full bleed, 12" x 16" three color carbro print clearly from the mid-1930's, not laid to matte, inscribed and signed by West in lower right corner with photographer James N. Doolittle's label on inside of presentation matte. Doolittle's remarkable color work has been featured in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions and recognized as one of the fore runners of color photography in the fields of commercial portraiture, advertising and journalism. Image is in excellent condition, signature nice but rendered in a fine point fountain pen so does not necessarily pop but certainly West's lovely baroque signature clearly evident.

Mary Pickford, Buddy Rogers Signed Photo by George Hurrell. Mary Pickford, who appeared in a staggering 251 films virtually all during the silent era with countless classics to her credit has been called by historians as likely the most popular screen actress of all time. She was one of the 36 original founders of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and at one point literally Hollywood royalty during her marriage to Douglas Fairbanks residing at their legendary home named 'Pickfair'. Was the second actress to win an Oscar, founded with Chaplin and Griffith United Artists Pictures, for years the highest paid woman in the world and scores of other accomplishments. After her divorce from Fairbanks, Pickford married Charles Buddy Rogers, eleven years her junior, adopted two children together and remained married for 42 years until her death. Offered here is a vintage 8½" x 6½" original double weight, black and white photo by famed photographer George Hurrell (quite a famous portrait in his remarkable career) signed in fountain pen by Mary Pickford and years later in Flair pen by Charles Buddy Rogers and in very fine condition.

Mickey Rooney, nominated four times for an Academy Award and featured in over 250 films including several classic musicals co-starring Judy Garland. Offered here is a rare and youthful portrait of Rooney, a three color carbro portrait, actual image 10" x 13" overall photo 13½" x 16¾" laid to matte from likely the late 1930's, with photographer's label on verso. Also, Rooney autographed boldly at a later date the presentation matte in the lower border. Myrna Loy and William Powell - Two Vintage Original Portraits Inscribed and Signed. A reunion of Nick and Nora Charles of The Thin Man series is achieved with the pairing of two portraits of the stars. Myrna Loy lovely in this 9½" x 12½" double-weight portrait by acclaimed MGM studio photographer, Lazlo Willinger (stamped on verso) and is boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen. The photo while a stunning image has crazing thoughout and some archival tape to support corner bends in the three corners but certainly a wonderful vintage piece with a fantastic signature (JSA graded). The second photo is of William Powell whose portrayal of the sophisticated Nick won him an Oscar nomination and generated 5 sequels. This 10" x 13" inch portrait is printed in warm sepia and boasts a striking image and a bold inscription and signature dated April, 1940 (JSA graded). Photo has a thin stain between inscription into shoulder and some edge wear in top white border. A perfect pair of portraits and signatures from one of the most beloved series of films based on the characters by Dashiell Hammet.

Prior to his historic political career, Ronald Reagan enjoyed a career in acting which spanned over 30 years in film and television, performing in some 60 films and over a dozen television programs. Married to Jane Wyman in 1940 which ended in divorce eight years later, in 1952 he re-married to actress Nancy Davis. Regan served as President of the Screen Actor's Guild beginning in 1947 for five of the most tumultuous years to ever hit Hollywood due to the HUAC hearings. Offered is a signed and inscribed double-weight, black and white portrait photo 9 1/4" x 7 3/4" and reads "Good luck to you, Henry. Sincerely Ronald" signed in green fountain pen.

Rudolph Valentino, Rare Vintage Original Portrait Signed and Inscribed. Rodolfo Alfonzo Raffaello Pierre Filibert Guglielmi di Valentina d'Antonguolla, Rudolph Valentino proved one of the absolute legends of Silent Cinema appearing in 40 films, 4 absolute classics including The Sheik, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Son of the Sheik and Blood and Sand. Valentino proved a cultural phenomenon at the height of his popularity, the likes never seen before at the time. His untimely death of a perforated ulcer sent shockwaves, his funeral proving a media fueled circus. In the offer is a vintage original 6¾" x 8½" double weight, portrait still in sepia, signed and inscribed by Valentino " Geuevo Michelle, Best wishes for greater laurels, Rudolph Valentino." Signed stills by Valentino are extremely rare and higly desired by collectors.

Superb, signed vintage original 8" x 10" portrait of the great Gene Kelly from 1947 for the film Living In A Big Way beautifully signed by Kelly in '93. Text on verso alludes to Kelly returning to the big screen after three years as a lieutenant in the Navy by MGM publicity with portrait by famed portrait photographer, Clarence Sinclair Bull. Signed Vintage Portraits of Giants of Silent Cinema- Fairbanks Sr., Pickford, Gish, and Bushman. Great collection of signed images of silent cinema greats. First a 7" x 9" double-weight portrait of Douglas Fairbanks signed, inscribed and dated 1927 boldly in blue fountain pen and in superior condition. Next a 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" photo card of the great Mary Pickford signed in blue fountain pen with a great deal of pressure that all but scratched in the signature into the photo resulting in a significantly bold autograph that is exceptional. A vintage 8" x 10" re-strike of Lillian Gish signed by Ms. Gish in lower white border. And finally a beautiful single weight dark brown and white 8" x 10" photo of Francis X. Bushman (he the lead of the first silent epic of Ben Hur and two hundred other productions, known for his classic features and physique with a career that spanned well into the 50's) beautifully signed in black fountain pen. The photo itself exhibits some chipping and paper loss in edges and corners including the "n" in Bushman, all from light handling, but a rare signature none the less.

Signed early in her career by Howard Hughes, he manufactured star status and unprecedented notoriety for her first role in The Outlaw. But where Russell achieved her career peak was co-starring with Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes delivering great musical numbers and showing the world how to make a memorable entrance into the dining room of a luxury liner. Television's BATMAN and The GREEN HORNET Signed Images. One of the all-time great phenomenon's of late 1960's televison was Batman starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin who both starred in 120 episodes (and one film) as the super crimefighting duo against more that 15 villains, many frequently portrayed by different actors and actresses. The duo are represented by one signed, 8" x 10" re-strike photo of Adam West and for Burt Ward, a nicely signed 8" x 10" fan magazine image signed boldly in Flair pen. But the rare piece in the collection is a vintage original 8" x 10" premium single-weight color portrait of Van Williams as The Green Hornet. Motivated by the success of Batman, ABC adapted the radio and movie serial and packaged the handsome Williams with the international sensation, Bruce Lee as Kato, but sadly lasted only one season. The photo of Williams is stamped on verso, "Mort Kaye Studios, New York, New York" and inscribed and signed "Always glad to steal for a friend, Van".

First a striking 1941 still from Texas starring William Holden and Claire Trevor with a terrific, youthful image of Holden atop his horse signed and inscribed "Bill Holden" in fountain pen. with studio publicity information on verso. Next, a 1956 color tinted publicity portrait of Western icon, Randolph Scott, for the Western, Seven Men From Now co-starring Lee Marvin signed and inscribed "Randy Scott". Finally a grizzled, great portrait of the great Charles Bronson from the film Death Hunt. All in excellent condition with the original photos quite a find by themselves.

The Wizard Of Oz - Spectacular Collection of Autographs/Photos of the Stars Including Judy Garland and Margaret Hamilton. The Wizard of Oz, one of the most beloved of all MGM musicals and arguably one of the most historically significant building blocks of American pop-culture, beloved by generations since its premiere in 1939. Offered in this lot are 8 autographs, 5 signed photos representing the lead cast and director. First a beautiful cut signature of Judy Garland signed in black fountain pen, matted with a beautiful re-strike 8" x 10" portrait of Garland as Dorothy Gale. Next a trimmed 7¼" x 8" vintage original MGM Studios publicity still stamped on verso Frank Morgan, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer inscribed and signed by the star (who portrayed five characters in the film including The Wizard) in black fountain pen and quite rare. Photo is single-weight, crazing throughout from age, but signature and inscription nice. Margaret Hamilton, forever a legend portraying the Wicked Witch of the West (and terrorizing millions of kids) inscribed and signed a vintage re-strike 10" x 8" of a memorable scene as the witch, first writing over the paper in her hand "A Warning for Damon. Read!" and then inscribed and signed in lower left corner " For Damon -Witchie Wishes -WWW Film - from Margaret Hamilton" all in excellent condition. Jack Haley portrayed the "Tin Man" and signed a vintage 8" x 10" restrike boldly across the chest of his costume as "The Tin Man, Jack Haley" and in excellent condition. Next a 7" x 9" vintage original photo of Ray Bolger with a beautiful inscription and bold signature in black fountain pen, who memorably played the Scarecrow, his remarkable dancing skills on full display. Bert Lahr in full costume as The Cowardly Lion in this beautiful 8" x 10" re-strike matted along side a bold signature clearly lifted from a legal contract signed in blue fountain pen. Glinda The Good Witch, Billie Burke is represented here by a hand-tinted 3¼" x 5¼" photo very nicely signed in black fountain pen.
