1859 7-piece proof set all NGC graded. Mintage of 800. Denomination and grades are as follow: 1¢, PF-65, Outstanding surfaces and free of troubling spots. Pop 38, 22 finer; silver 3¢, PF-64, Delicate light blue toning and pleasing in every regard. Pop 42, 37 finer; Half Dime, PF-65, Glorious toning and a bold strike blended with clean surfaces. Pop 48, 27 finer; Dime, PF-66, The toning and surfaces are a delight to examine here, and notice the rich blue and gold toning. Pop 27, 8 finer; 25¢, PF-65, Another stunning gem proof that will always please the specialist. Pop 21, 19 finer; 50¢, PF-67 Star, Usually the larger coins in these early proof sets are more average in quality, but not so here,this is one of the most appealing, and technically outstanding, of the entire group. Make sure to linger over the quality and eye appeal of this condition rarity. Pop 2, none finer at NGC; Dollar, PF-66, Amazing eye appeal for a Type I Liberty Seated dollar, the toning is exquisite and the surfaces a perfect match. An important early proof set that contains several coins that stand well on their own but collectively make for a most powerful group of 1859 coinage. Pop 18, 4 finer. All have nice original toning.
