1807 C-1 R1 NGC graded MS62 Brown. Frosty medium steel brown and chocolate. Satiny mint luster covers the protected areas on both sides giving this piece excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a faint hairline scratch on the cheek, another on the neck, and a tiny rim nick under the 1 in the date. LDS, Manley state 3.0. The die crack that meanders across the top of the 7 extends to the adjacent 0 and bust. Our grade is AU50. PCGS population 14; 2 finer in 63 for the variety at NGC. The attribution is shown on the NGC label.

1807 C-1 R1 PCGS graded AU55, CAC Approved. Frosty steel brown and chocolate blending to darker olive brown in protected areas on both sides. Underlying flowline luster covers the fields and protected areas. This piece shows very little if any wear, just a touch of friction on the highest points of the devices. M-LDS, Manley state 3.0 early. The die crack that meanders across the top of the 7 is clear and most of the dentils are gone. Struck with the reverse rotated 45 degrees CCW from the usual head-to-foot die orientation. Our grade is consistent with the slab grade.

1807 C-1 R1 EF45. The obverse is glossy light to medium brown mottled with darker chocolate brown while the reverse is a more uniform glossy light to medium chocolate and steel. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas. No roughness or verdigris, only a few trivial contact marks, none notable. MDS, Manley state 2.0, with dentils showing around half of the obverse and a tiny crack that meanders across the top of the 7. The reverse is rotated 15 degrees CCW.

1808/7 C-2 R3 Overdate 8 over 7 PCGS graded XF40. Glossy medium chocolate brown with traces of lighter brown toning in protected areas. No roughness or verdigris. The only marks are a few nicks including one hidden in the hair left of the ear, another off the bust tip, and one over the D in UNITED. Nicely struck EDS, Manley state 1.0, with the obverse die uncracked. The overdate feature is obvious. A nice example of this popular overdate variety. Our grade is VF30+ sharpness net VF25. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 4 finer for the variety, 1 in 53, 2 in 55, 1 in 64.

1808/7 C-2 R3 Overdate 8 over 7 VF25. Attractive glossy light to medium chocolate brown and steel. Looks flawless to the unaided eye but a good glass reveals numerous microscopic contact marks. The only notable mark, and it is barely visible under magnification, is a faint hairline scratch from the eye to the dentils at the right. Nicely struck EDS, Manley state 1.0. The obverse is uncracked and the overdate feature is clear.

1808/7 C-2 R3 Overdate 8 over 7 G5. Glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Smooth surfaces offering nice eye appeal for the grade A small rim nick at the second A in AMERICA is the best identifying mark. EDS Manley state 1.0. The date is complete but not strong and the overdate feature is visible.

1808 C-3 R1 PCGS graded AU58. Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. The fields and protected areas are covered with satiny flowline luster and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. Nearly flawless. The best identifying mark is a tiny nick on the base of the F in OF. LDS, Manley state 5.0, with an unrotated reverse. Our grade is EF45+. The attribution is shown on the PCGS label.
