1855 Wass, Molitor & Co. (San Francisco) $50 Gold. NGC graded AU Details, Tooled and Polished. Marbled surfaces caused by heat as commonly seen on this large and highly prized issue. Perhaps 100 to 150 of these $50 Wass, Molitor & Co., pieces exist, and a significant number of them have been repaired or smoothed. After all, these have been highly collectible for generations. Furthermore, these are the only privately minted $50 gold coins from the Gold Rush era. Excellent details and the rims are free of bumps and bruises.
