1807. Bust left. NGC graded AU-50. Handsome orange-gold color and well struck for this final year of the Draped Bust design, which soon switched to the Bust Right design by Engraver John Reich shortly after this coin was struck. This ia a scarce issue and one that has always found good demand from type collectors, particularly so when found this well preserved. Only 32,488 struck (PCGS # 8101) .

1808 BD-4 Rarity 3+. PCGS graded MS-62. Frosty and untoned save for a blush of orange-gold coloration. Lustrous and attractive, with smooth surfaces and no distracting marks. Very fresh and wholesome. This piece is sure to bring a smile to the new buyer's face! Fantastic eye appeal and quite close to an MS-63 grade. Deserving of a strong bid for the technical and aesthetic qualities.The strike is well centered and sharp enough to bring up Liberty's curls and the eagle's feathers. A handsome example of the recently adopted design by John Reich. Only 55,578 struck. Pop 25; 36 finer, 19 in 63, 15 in 64, 2 in 65. (PCGS # 8102) .

These half eagles served as the backbone of our monetary system in their era, and today offer numismatists a glimpse into the elegance of our early federal coinage. Designed by mint engraver John Reich, these early half eagles have been sought after by generations of numismatists. Once long look and any modern collector will immediatly understand why.
