Ford, Henry, Samuel Crowther, and Henry Ford II (1863-1947) American industrialist; founder of Ford Motor Company. By making a car that middle-class Americans could afford, he revolutionized transportation and American industry. Note page with small photo of Ford affixed signed boldly at left, 4 x 5½", n.p., n.d. The same page also has a signature and inscription by Samuel Crowther (1809-91), a linguist and the first African Anglican bishop in Nigeria. With a 1977 letter signed by Henry Ford II (1917-87) on Ford letterhead, congratulating an employee on his 30th anniversary at Ford.

Hoffa, James R (1913-75) American labor leader who vanished in 1975 and is believed to have been murdered. Envelope signed in blue ink, no date but notarized on the verso on April 23, 1974. Envelope has typed address of a person in Clute-Richwood, Texas.

Hughes, Howard (1905-76) American business tycoon, aviator, inventor, aerospace engineer, filmmaker, and philanthropist. Printed invitation signed in pencil at lower right, one page, 9½ x 7" (New York City, Mar. 31, 1940) from the Mayor of the City of New York and the President and Directors of the Pan American Airways System for the dedication of the International Seaplane Base at La Guardia Field and the inauguration of transatlantic air service from the base. The Yankee Clipper took off that day with a crew of ten, nine passengers, and over 5,000 lbs. of mail. It landed in Lisbon, Portugal 18 hours and 30 minutes later.

Rockefeller, John D (1839-1937) American business magnate, founder of Standard Oil Company; philanthropist. Christmas Card for 1922 signed in pencil by the 83-year-old industrialist and philanthropist. Another hand has written above his signature, "With happy memories of the good old days," and someone else, probably the recipient, penned the date, "Dec. 25 - 1922."
