Canada, 1851, Queen Victoria, 12d black, laid paper. Scott 3. SG 4. Unitrade 3. Attractive example of this rare stamp with four full margins, Unused, no gum. Two small tears, one at lower left & other at bottom and small corner crease at bottom left. Only 1450 stamps were sold in the 1851-54 period out of 51,000 printed. Rest of the unsold stamps were destroyed. Not many sold because 12c mailing rate was seldom used. Long recognized as an imporrtant British Commonwealth rarity, most of these stamps are either faulty or repaired because of the fragile nature of the paper. Highly collectible example with excellent color. 1962 BPA & 2013 Philatelic Foundation Certs.

Addressed to Louis D Beaumont, Aerial Derby Commission Chairman, at the Grand Hotel in Peking. Bold signature of Beaumont at top. Some insignificant staining. Rare cover.

Large red band cover with vertical pair of 10¢ airmails, Sinkiang Scott #94 and horizontal pair of China C10 all tied to reverse by 1933 Tihwa cancels. Sent to Shanghai (receiver) and addressed to Hollington Tong at The China Press. Mr. Tong was in charge of propaganda for the Republic of China and later became the Republic of China's ambassador to the USA. Folds of no consequence to stamps or cancels. Scarce franking.
