Costa Rica. Pre-Columbian Gold Pectoral, 10+ Kt Gold (159.7 gm), ca. 11th - 16th Century AD. A large gold pectoral piece of two male anthropomorphic creatures playing musical instruments. There is a decorative border of braided gold around the two creatures that has eight working bells attached and twelve double spirals attached. Height: 3 ½"; Length: 6".

Guatamala, Maya (El Peten), Altar de Sacrificos. Pre-Columbian Jade Face (Cry-Baby), ca. AD 600-900. From the "Classic" era of Mesoamerican art. It is a 'cry-baby' with a jaguar jaw stile. Possibly worn as breast decoration by noblemen, holes by the ears and back of head for attachments. Mounted on custom stand. A wonderfully shaped and smoothed large piece of jade. Height: 4"; Width: 3".

Indian, Gandharan. Schist High Relief Fragment, ca. 2nd-4th Century AD. This fragment of schist is carved with four figures. Two of the figures stand in the center foreground, on left is a woman dressed in long flowing robes wrapping herself, right, is a man with one hand on his head and the other holds a cup from which he drinks. They are standing under a ornamented pointed arch with volute ends from which pinecones hang. On each volute stands a nude male attendant, looking inward. Signs of repairs to the arcade, but not visible from the front. On easel. Height: 10 ½"; Length: 9"; Width: 2 ½".

India, Burmese. Gilded Teak Buddha, ca. 17th Century. This statue of Buddha is carved from a teak tree and was once completely painted in gold gilt. He is seated on a lotus flower with his legs crossed and arms in Bhumisparsha Mudra position, one hand resting upward and the other reaching forward to touch the ground. This position refers to the calling of the Earth to bear witness the moment he reached Enlightenment. Height: 17"; Length: 8"; Width: 5".

Peru. Incan Silver Mirror, ca. AD 1000-1450. A late Incan silver mirror of a heavy and solid construction the handle with rectangular profile and rounded base, the rounded end pounded flat and polished, a central hole (perhaps for suspension or for a decorative applique). Intact with the front side cleaned and re-polished; the back side, original patina. A rare survivor of the Spanish period. Mounted on custom base. Height: 12 ¼".
