1929, $5 National Bank Note. Ty. 2. The Calistoga NB, Calistoga, CA. Ch. #9551. PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ. Fr-1800-2. KL-1171. Serial numbers 2 and 3 from this sheet have recently surfaced, the former (grading PMG 66EPQ) selling for $3,818 in the a January, 2014 sale, and the latter (grading PCGS 67PPQ) selling for $2,820 in a September, 2013 sale. This serial number A000004 is gorgeous, with almost flawless centering and wonderful originality.

A very attractive, lightly circulated example with bright paper and no mentionable flaws. From a popular Orange County bank that is almost never available in large size (this sale being a pleasant exception), and has less than 30 small size examples known.
