1783 Nova Constellatio Crosby 1-A Pointed Rays with Large US Rarity-1. PCGS graded VF-20. Smooth glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. No roughness, verdigris, or notable marks. Just lightly worn. The date and legends are complete and easily readable although some elements are relatively weak due to an uneven strike from the late die state. The Pointed Rays and Large US features are noted on the PCGS label. Listed on page 54 in the "Redbook."

1787 Connecticut Miller 33.9-s.2 Rarity-2 PCGS "Genuine" AU Details, Environmental Damage. Frosty dark steel and olive. The eye appeal is quite nice, but a glass reveals uniform extremely fine roughness covering the planchet with traces of microscopic verdigris in protected areas. No marks or other defects. Nicely struck but slightly off center to K-4 leaving parts of the legend tight to the edge of the planchet. The designs are bold. A nice example of the Draped Bust Left type. Listed on page 62 in the "Redbook."

1787 New Jersey Maris 6-C Rarity-5 VG7. Mostly glossy olive brown and steel. The planchet is reasonably smooth except for an area of shallow corrosion on the right side of the obverse and a few voids on the rim over UNUM on the reverse. No notable verdigris or contact marks. The date is weakly struck, as always on this variety, but it is complete and easily readable. Listed on page 70 in the "Redbook." Weight 139.3 grains.

The obverse is sharply struck and very nice while the reverse is weakly struck (as always) with specks of soft powdery verdigris (probably removable) scattered about. MDS with a cud break at the bust tip and a die crack slanting down the portrait. Listed on page 72 in the "Redbook."

1795 Washington Liberty & Security Penny Breen-1254. PCGS graded MS-66 Brown. CAC Approved. Beautiful medium brown and light chocolate with traces of original red, especially on the reverse. The fields are smooth and slightly reflective and this piece offers outstanding eye appeal. No spots, stains, or contact marks. The edge is lettered and reads "AN ASYLUM FOR THE OPPRESS'D OF ALL NATIONS." The edge lettering was applied deeply into the planchet causing the obverse rim to be a bit uneven, which is normal for this issue. A premium example in every respect. Listed on page 84 in the "Redbook." PCGS population 1, none finer.

1795 Washington Grate Halfpenny with Large Buttons Breen-1271. NGC graded MS-61 Brown. Frosty steel brown and light chocolate with 5-10% of the faded mint color remaining. Sharply struck and void of notable defects, although there are a couple traces of crud caked around the GA in BISHOPSGATE on the reverse. Very nice for the grade. Listed on page 83 in the "Redbook."

1787 Fugio Cent Newman 4-E Rarity-3 Club Rays. PCGS graded VF-20. Slightly glossy medium chocolate brown. The only defects are a barely visible planchet lamination at IO in FUGIO, as struck, and traces of soft verdigris in a few of the protected areas on both sides. MDS with the bottom of the 8 in the date filled with crumbling. An acceptable example of the popular "Club Rays" type. Listed on page 88 in the "Redbook."
