About 50% mint red still remains on this scarcer issue from the mid-decade when most, it seems, worked their way into circulation (1866 is noted for be offered mostly in circulated grade). Only a few were retained showing mint red color. A beauty! And well struck. Pop 4; 73 finer, 70 in 65, 3 in 66. (PCGS # 2086) .

Lincoln, this likely would take its place in the hearts and minds of Cent collectors. Only 309,000 were made versus 484,000 for the '09-S V.D.B. Sleek brown color. Sharp LIBERTY on the headband and full diamond pattern at the ribbon end (PCGS # 2238) .
