Lot 1169
1911. NGC graded Proof 68 Cameo. A mostly white gem. Perhaps the finest known. Only 543 struck. Having so few struck of the 1911 Proof it is hard to imagine that any of the other survivors could be more attractively original or technically well preserved than this incredible Cameo frosted Gem piece. The obverse display delicate peripheral toning with an incredible mirror depth to the almost entirely bright, untoned interior mirrors. Neither side can be said to be "more tame" than the other, both surfaces gleam intensely. An outstanding example of this late date Proof in the Barber series. Pop 1; none finer at NGC.
Estimated Value $8,000 - 10,000.
