Great Britain. Proof Crown, 1887. S.3921; Dav-107; KM-765. Victoria. Jubilee head. Beautifully toned in shades of dark blue and magenta. Probably much rarer than the 1893 Proof Crown in top grades. NGC graded Proof 65.

*The 1887 Crown was the largest of the British coins to bear the 'Jubilee Head' portrait of Victoria sculpted by Joseph Edgar Boehm (1826-1891). The gold and silver coinage was redesigned for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 1887, but Boehm's image was never used on the bronze coinage.
Spink's 'Coins of England' states that 'truly FDC' proof coins of Victoria 'are hardly ever encountered' and this Proof 65 specimen is truly remarkable.
