  Group of 8 Large Cent Copies or Alterations. Grades range from AG3 to VF20. Includes an 1804 Electrotype copy, an 1804 with an altered date on a Draped Bust cent, 1809 Electrotype, 1815 made from an 1816-35, another 1815 but this one with the date altered from an 1845, a third 1815 made from an 1843-57 with the entire obverse reengraved, 1816 counterfeit struck on a brass planchet, and an 1832 counterfeit struck in lead or base metal. An eclectic group, some deceptive, others not at all. Lot of 8 coins.

Blank Planchet for a Cent, 1843-1857, VF. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth except for a small patch of fine carbon near the edge on one side. The rims are upset (Breen's stage II) indicating this planchet was ready for striking. Diameter 28.0 millimeters, weight 169.0 grains (both at the standard for cent planchets).
