Walking Liberty Half Dollars

Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 2838
1917-D Liberty Walking Half Dollar. Mint mark on reverse. PCGS graded AU-58. Delicate golden toning on both sides, a lustrous early Walking Liberty half dollar that is surprisingly difficult to obtain in higher circulated grades. Apparently most reached circulation where they stayed for many decades, wearing down (PCGS # 6571) .
Estimated Value $900 - 1,000.

Lot 2839
1923-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar. SEGS graded MS-61. Toned. In our opinion this coin isn't quite Mint State but very close. An elusive date in the 1920s. With high production in 1917 and 1918, and again in 1920, half dollar coinage declined markedly in 1921-1933 with only intermittent issues until Franklin Roosevelt's great inflationary program kicked in with 1934-on (PCGS # 6586) .
Estimated Value $500 - 550.
