Lot 2815
1814 Capped Bust Half Dollar. . Overton-103. NGC graded MS-65. A hint of light tone around the edges. Very frosty. An outstanding example with heavy mint frost and a nearly pure white color barring a trim of blue with russet iridescence at the rims on both sides. Sharply struck in the centers and stars tough some of the stars at the right are flat; the detail includes the cap and curls, the eagle with all its plumage, claws, and shield. Die break through left wing comes down from the scroll. A common die marriage, however, this is one of the very finest known and it sports a wonderful appearance. Pop 22; 10 finer, 6 in 66, 3 in 67, 1 in 68.
